Its about a story of a Bollywood Movie superstar and a barber who is struggling to live. Billu stars Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in a modern day twist to the Sudama-Krishna friendship story. Its a Priyadarsan film, and as usual, the film is a remake of the Malayalam hit movie called Katha Parayumbol, written by actor Srinivasan, who acted as the Barber and Mammoty as the Movie star. This was a super hit in Kerala. Later it was  made into Tamil as Kuselanwith superstar Rajinikanth as Movie Star, but the movie didn’t collect.

Billu is the story of a barber, who lives in a quiet village with his wife and two children. The movie has a twist and their lives change when a superstar and his crew flies into the village for a film shoot.

Billu has been given a “U” certificate by censor board. This movie promises to be a healthy entertainer with lots of emotional drama, which makes it a perfect family watch, as most of Priyadarshan’s films.

The movie release date was delayed many times. Finally it has been scheduled to release on Feb 13th 2009. The songs of this movie have become hit by this time. Songs titled “Marjani” is already on top of the charts now.
